Urlabari (Morang): Nepal Army’s Tribhuvan Army Club has won the 5th Madan Bhandari memorial gold cup football tournament. Riding on a brace from ace striker Nawayug Shrestha, the TAC defeated the organizers Madan Bhandari Memorial academy team by 2-1 to clinch the trophy.

Nawayug had opened the scoring in the 29th minute which was cancelled out by Santosh Neupane in the 41st minute for the home team. Nawayug then made it 2-1 in the 62nd minute of the match, which also won the trophy for his team.Along with the win, TAC took home Rs. 202,000 in cash prize while runners up pocketed Rs. 100,000. A total of eight teams had taken part in the tournament that began on May 9.
